Shaftesbury Avenue
The north east end of Shaftesbury Avenue although in the Covent Garden conservation area has been neglected but still retains a few Edwardian buildings of character and quality. Leader House is one such. A tired pub occupied the ground level. The upper storeys had been derelict for 20 years. The client has a special interest in bringing buildings with architectural value, particularly of this period, back to life. Planning consent was granted in 2007 to refurbish and extend the upper storeys to create very high quality apartments and convert the basement and ground floors to a restaurant.
